Contact BJR Landscaping to share your ideas with our professional Landscape Designer. Winter is a great time to line up your Landscaping ideas, so you can enjoy your yard in the coming summer.
Is there a charge for estimates?
No, we do not charge for estimates. We will even propose a rough design for a landscape project free of charge. However, if you would like a detailed plan please consider our design service.
Why do we have to pay a deposit?
The reason for the deposit is simple. We work here in Quebec with a very short landscaping season. Therefore when we sign a contract and allot time for that project to be done it is very costly if people are not serious or cancel last minute. The deposit allows us to book projects throughout the season and give realistic starting dates to our clients.
When you set a start date and excavate my landscaping project at my house, will you be there right away to complete the project?
Yes. Here at BJR Landscaping we pride ourselves in keeping your property clean and starting and completing the projects we undertake as close to our schedule as possible. We do not excavate a project unless our teams are ready to start working right away.
How will the weather affect my landscaping?
At BJR Landscaping we work through the extreme weather conditions we get in Montreal such as rain or even the hot and cold weather as long as it will have no damaging effects on the project at hand or to any of our equipment. If we have to stop working because of the weather, the crews pick up exactly where they left off as soon as weather permits.
Why is a Unistone driveway better or more durable than Asphalt?
A Unistone driveway is obviously an investment. It is slightly more expensive than asphalt, though the gap has been closing in the recent years. Unistone is not necessarily better but rather more durable than asphalt, especially with our winters. The asphalt will crack with the heaving from the thaw of our winters while the unistone is made to be able to adapt to a certain amount of flex. Also with a proper base construction, a unistone driveway can last easily up to 20 years and above. When the asphalt dries and cracks with the sun as well as the cold, the new unistone products, which are made to withstand our fluctuation in temperature and whether are guaranteed for life.
Will the salt in the winter and the snow tractors deteriorate my new unistone project?
No not at all. The new Unistone products are made to withstand our winters. They are guaranteed for life and encourage people to use them as if it were concrete or asphalt.
What happens if I spend all this money on a unistone project and then get some sort of oil spill or stain on it?
Well we always recommend that our clients seal the Unistone driveways with either a wet or dry look. The sealer protects the unistone from stains and fading. But many clients would rather not seal the driveway and just call us if ever there is a stain or problem because it is not hard or expensive to simply lift out the stained section of unistone and replace the stone all together.
Do I need a design for my project?
Not all projects need a design. The scope of the project to be completed will determine the need for a design. Enlarging a planting bed or adding simple elements to the landscape can be done with a verbal description or rough sketch. As the complexity of the project increases, such as with the re-landscaping of a backyard after a pool is installed, a design/plan may be a valuable tool in helping you visualize the project. We are able to complete most projects from a detailed sketch, however we recommend that any project encompassing more than one or two faces of a building should be constructed based on a plan. A design ensures that you are able to see how the project will look in proportion to your property, and will aid in coordinating different elements of a project such as a pool, fence and the landscaping.
Where can I get a design created?
We offer design services and can provide you with a design for your project. You may also choose to have an outside designer complete a design/plan. We will work from any design/plan that is presented to us.
How much does a design cost?
A design for a section of a property will start at $100.00, and as the scale of the project increases the design cost will also rise.
What areas do you service?
We provide landscaping services to the entire West Island of Montreal and surrounding area. From Vaudreuil/Dorion to NDG/Westmount, Pointe-Claire to Pierrefonds and into Laval.
Why do I need an agreement?
We perform landscape work based on a written agreement. This agreement is our commitment to you in terms of the price quoted, materials to be supplied and the scope of the project. The agreement allows us to schedule work and respect the service schedule and deadlines that we have committed to.
